Aniseed brandy "Mastika is one of the highest-percentage aniseed brandies in Bulgaria and Southeast Europe, which is produced by rectification of the essential oils, primarily of star aniseed seeds (Illicium Verum). According to Bulgarian state standards, the name "Mastika" may only be used for aniseed brandies that have at least 47% alcohol content.The oils of the star anise and fennel seeds give Mastika its unique, delicately sweet aroma - intensely scented with aniseed (anetol).Serve very cool!
